Angry vic wont go above 80???

i have a 96 crown vic w/ the police package and i would be going down the road and ill hit 80mph and it wont go any higher could someone help me on this problem? thanks

You just named it in upper post. Tune Up.
Like they say sparks plugs to start with.
And sometimes just sparks plugs is called a tune up
The old fashion tune up used to cover checking everything even battery cables hose and belts antifreeze and general look over.
But for a good complete tune up check plugs and fuel and air filter and pcv valve and good idea to check fuel pressure for specs and fuel pressure reg leakage.
Also watch for codes in coomputer system.
And watch that MAF sensor for dirt accumalation.

ok thanks =) i replaced the spark plugs and the wires. i had the oil changed and the oil fiter changed, air filter changed after all that theres a big differance in the power.....i guess i have to change the fuel filter...and clean that sensor.....can someone tell me where the fuel filter is on the 96 crown vic pi....thanks i would be the happiest person in the the world =)

I had that problem before I did a full tune up but you should also check or replace your catalytic converters they might be clough up if you still have the stock one's, if you have four you might want to stay with two leave one on each side the car will run better and should still pass emissions "smog check-test"
