How did you pay for your car?

Well, who here paid cash for his/her car, and who has monthly payments?

As for me, I've never had a loan, and paid cash for my cars. As far as possible, I will try to avoid car payments for the rest of my life.

Re: How did you pay for your car?

Paying finance right now. Parents purchased it, paid for it the first year, worked my nuts off over XMas and summer to save up, took over payments last March, and just being pulling out of my savings account to pay for it. Next car will probably cash up front, but will also probably be a third party used purchase.

I paid $2200 up front for my Z28.

I will avoid buying a brand new car until I can pay for it in cash because car payments are one thing I really don't need, there are plenty of fast cars that are used.

Re: How did you pay for your car?

Paid 2500 for my crx off ebay in a much ricier condition although most of the original parts still worked back then (3 years ago). I had to get a small loan from my bank to cover some of it and I paid it off monthly for a year. I would ditch the beater in a second for a nice car on payments but my car payment money seems to be paying back financial aid. Unless I make more money the crx will be my paid for car for awhile...

Got it back in 99. Took me 5 years, and on the pay I paid it off, I started ordering parts for it.

Re: How did you pay for your car?

6,000 cash for the 71 SS Camaro, and a bunch more for the build process.

The SS/SC is financed, payments kinda suck but it's an awesome way to get credit. No credit = no buying power without wads of cash...and I for one do not have wads of cash.

Werd. I have a shit ton of useless ass credit cards Im using to buy random small shit just to build up my credit. The only one I use for any seriousness, and is kinda fucking me, is my Buckle card...whoever gave me a $500 a month line of credit to that store is an idiot...

I financed my GSX, the 454SS (but I put about 50% down) and I will finance my next ride whenever that day might be.
