carb tuning
anyone have any tips on tuning an edelbrock performer carb?
It has a flat spot at about 2300rpm, and it revs really slow. I think its lean, but I dont know. |

Re: carb tuning
We've seen many of these with the same problem. Something about the secondary air valve not being adjustable. Unfortunately, the best solution is to dump the E-carb and get a Holley. If you really WANT the Carter type carb, buy a genuine Carter.
What exactly are you trying to do with the car, and what equipment do you already have? Jim |

Re: carb tuning
Okay, so what is the car and engine? What intake did you install? Distributor? Are you up for a cam change?

the car is an 87 t/a 305, intake is an edelbrock performer, distributor gm HEI. no, im not up for a cam swap right now. Im going to wait with a cam till I have money to do a 350 swap.
edit. Its running better now, I messed with the idle screws some more. now it revs better, but it bogs when I floor it |
