SS/SC Vs. 03+ V6 Tibby

I was out for another cruise lastnight when I passed by a newer V6 Tiburon(I think it was black?). I looked it over a bit when I was cruising by to see if it was a V6, which it was, then I just kept my 45 mph pace and pretty much forgot about the car because it didn't seem like the driver was interested. Well, I was wrong. He's about 4 lengths behind me when he drops it down and tries to catch me from behind(this move is getting old).I punched it when he was about 2 cars back and was in 3rd gear at 45 mph which puts me at about 2300 rpm or so when, so I wasn't in much of a racing mode, but I didn't bother to drop it down a gear out of laziness. This gave him the opportunity to get about 1 1/2 cars ahead before the SS finally picked up some momentum and I started to gain on him. But what do you know, the bastard jumps me from behind, then shuts down before I pass him.

I just said to myself that it figures and slowed down to a normal pace. Since he had fallen back after he nailed the brakes he was coming up on me again. I looked directly over at him and it was a puggy little kid that couldnt have been more than 17 years old. Then he did something I really didn't expect. He made this strange fish lipped motion with his mouth in an effort to taunt me over his "victory". So I followed behind him after changing lanes to the next red light. I'm behind him at the light and he's the first car in line. I've got my window cracked and I can hear some younger guys in the back of a pickup that's in the left turn lane say to him "Looks like you've got some trouble behind you dude." I chuckled a bit while admiring the E46 convertable M3 a lane over.(Yes I know the M would have destoyed me if it wanted to play)

Light goes green and we both take off normaly with me behind him a length and a half. Once we're clear of the intersection and the 2 cars that were at the light the kid goes for it at about 35 mph. I waited for him to get another length for safety's sake and I nail it. I changed a lane over to the left as I'm now reeling him in fast. I caught him at the beginning of 3rd which is around 65 mph and slingshot passed him, with just enough time to look over and let him know I appreciated his ricer-flyby by letting him know I thought he was number 1. The expression on his face was priceless. I shut her down at 90-95 with a few lengths on him and made a left to hit the freeway and go home. He followed me on the freeway and was driving at a fast pace so I figured he wanted a go on the top end. But for some reason he cuts off a bunch of cars behind me and jump on the first exit ramp, staring me down while leaving. Anyway, that was my fun for the night.

Why do none of these kids have any honor? What the hell is the matter with actually lining up with someone and having a fair run?

All i get are races from a light. I think i've only gotten one real race from a roll, ever. Maybe when you are at a light next to one, roll down your window and request one?

I think that's about what one has to do. I have had some dig races, but only with my buddies when we set it up.

Re: SS/SC Vs. 03+ V6 Tibby

well we aren't all bad.
Depending on which 17 year old kid you face, you'll see different outcomes.
I know how you feel when a guy in a lesser car thinks he beat you. I had the same experience dealing with a kitted del sol. I'm just cruising around and this jerk comes swerving around and hits his hazards like he's the man.
Needless to say, 5 minutes and 3 highway runs later he wasn't the man anymore... I doubt he had much left of what was his ego.

good times

Sorry, too late. I destroyed a 90's modded honda hatch tonight with my buddy in the car. The kid picked the fight and I ended it. Man, it was bad. He took off from the light like a shot and I gave him a good 7 lengths before I got on it. By 80 mph I had him reeled in and passed him. I shut down about a half car ahead seeing no need to take it any further. He just kept going to 100+...friggin nut case kid.

Before that I ran him from a roll at about 30-75. My buddy said he couldnt count the bus lengths, but there were a lot. After I shut down he kept it wot and when he got within a couple lengths back I nailed it again, stopping his pull instantly and put another bus length on him.

I guess it's fun for them to try? Man, the ricer fly-by is getting to be a wide spread tactic...I think someone sent out a memo.

Oh I know. I wasnt like that at all when I was younger either. Although I had was an 86 silverado with a lackluster 305. But at least I didn't try to pawn it of as some NASTRUCK. Hell, I never raced anything untill I got the Camaro when I was 19.

Re: SS/SC Vs. 03+ V6 Tibby

Im seriously considering an 04 mach 1. Found one with 4k miles for 21 grand.

But I hope to get as many cars in as a can. All V8 Mustang variants post 99, LS1's, STI's, EVO's, New Eclipse, GTO, possibly the 3000gt VR-4, i dunno if they have them there still, and a MKIV Supra.

If you guys can think of anything else a Dealership might have, lemme know.

So..he passed you then you passed him back or what..sounds like at first maybe he just wanted to pass..if someone trys speeding up when i pass them I will leave them behind for good, no more catch up games.

He got the jump on me from behind, in the next lane over. He wasnt trying to just pass me as there was no need to go wot with zero traffic around besides the two of us. And no, I didn't manage to catch him in the first run as he shut down and nailed the brakes. This however did cause me to pass him because I wasn't thinking he'd instigate a run, then chicken out.

04 mach is awesome. But how old are you? I've heard the insurance is insane on them. The rest of the cars in your list are very nice as well. Hope you have a kick ass day test driving those cars man. Just don't crash one huh.
