This might sound like a funny question to some but I have been putting my change(coins) in the ashtray that is directly behind the stick shift in my 2000 323i. Somehow a coin got over the lid of the ashtray and fell behind it. Now when I try to open the lid it jams against the coin and I can't open it all the way. Is there any way to get the lid all the way open with busting it or reach this compartment(somewhat easily) around the back side?

Re: Ashtray Problems?
hey, I have the same problem with Z4. This is one of the worst design of BMW. I took the car to dealer and guess what? they asked for $200 to fix it by openning the whole cover under the stick.
sigh..... |
