MEDECO KILL SWITCH IN MY 92 GS.... ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THESE . -BERKS Co- Pennsylvania
ok i just got a 92 stock gs 2.0 non-turbo with 130,000miles on it,,,, when i 1st got it started and everything the kid i got it off of said there is a kill switch on it... and that i should not installed the wire to it untill i could get a key for it due to the fact that he lost it.... well i changed batterys in the car and my buddy thought it was to be installed... but then ever since it was installed all my engine does is rotate slow it wont start,,,,
its a MEDECO kill switch i looked it up online but could find no info on it... well people were telling me to cut the wires that ran to it so i did now my engine dont even start,,, then when these two wires from underneat the dash back into it then my engine rotates but it still wont fire up... i checked spark,wires,termenals,fuel, everything is checking out normal after sitting around thinking about it for 2 weeks i figured out why the hell it aint starting.... also i changed the oil in it since its been sitting everytime i go to check the oil level it says that its empty but its not 3 quarts plus lucas in it...is the reason its not going to the Pan becuase the motor hasnt warmed up due to not being ran? if anyone is from the Reading,PA Metro please Send me a E-mail to [email protected].... please help! |

Next time make a more respectable title. The CAPS + extremely long is annoying. You can tell us all that in the thread. Something like "Medeco kill switch help" would have been good.
Sounds like you screwed up your electrical pretty bad. Take it to a shop that installs alarms and have them fix it for you. Your probably gonna have to live and learn on this one.

are you saying you replaced the battery? if you did make sure the new battery has a full charge. dont forget- never store a battery on the ground, it drains. i dont think it was the kill switch because a kill switch would not let any power to the starter

w0ouldnt the kill switch just disable the ignition?

yeah it wouldn't turn over or anything with a kill switch.
