4Runner or Pathfinder?

In the next month I will be buying a new toy. I have narrowed it down to either the 90-94 4Runner or an 88-94 Pathfinder. After researching both of them, it seems like either would be a good choice. I plan on using it for daily driving and some off-road driving as well. I will be moving to the Pacific Northwest next spring and will be enjoying some time up in the mountains with it. So in stock condition which one would be more capable for my needs? Also, which one has more potential to be built up and become a true off-road toy? Thanks for any thoughts or opinions.

Re: 4Runner or Pathfinder?

I don't have any personal experience with either of them, but I have seen more 4Runner performance parts than Pathfinder parts, but a lot.
