Data Collection (Black Box)

I have recently purchased a 2004 Cadillac CTS-V. This car has a "Black Box" that can record information such as speed, throttle position, etc. There are cases where this information was used against drivers by police. I understand that in Califonia it is required that the customer be given the option of disabling this system. Does anyone know how to do this?

Re: Data Collection (Black Box)

I doubt that cops could use the info in the box unless the car belonged to someone else. I would think that if it was a business car or if you were on the clock, the owner of the car would have to give permission for them to get access to the data. Not sure about that though.
