1996 S-10 Won't Start

My S10- has 285,000. The current problem is as follows:
I found the starter to be bad. Replaced it. Now when I turn the key nothing happens. Rechecked all connections. all are properly connected. The only sound that is made when the key is turned is the sound of the relay switch, nothing else. Any sugesstions. Thank you in advance.

hey, if it works when your in a spot there's nothing wrong with it.

When your fuel pump is going just banging on the fuel tank will often get you going again too.
