It NEVER ENDS!!

I do NOT, for the life of me, understand how people can stand to watch so much sports. My roommate, for instance, will sit on the couch from 12 until some ridiculously late hour watching nothing but football, and it's not like it's even on one channel -- it's on 4 or 5 of them! 8 o'clock rolls around, and i just want to watch The Simpsons, but can I? NO. Apparently it's more important to keep these pinheads standing in front of the camera, blabbering on and on about the rain delay, which is in turn delaying MY show. Like I give two shits what Joe Buck thinks the rain delay is doing for the starting pitching. Does anybody even CARE about the "World Series" this year? Whether it's these guys prattling on for the 5th time about so and so's ERA record, or those knuckle-heads slapping each other on the asses for hours on end, reciting some useless statistic about a rookie QB, or a runningback's yardage, or a coach's methods. I can't help but wonder as to what might happen if you suddenly took the GAME of Football out of these people's lives -- would they just wither away, leaving nothing but their suit and tie to occupy their stool?

You like to watch anime or Star Trek, you're a queer and/or a nerd. You like to watch grown men hustling around a field, throwing balls, and slapping each other on the ass, you're an all-American guy. Ugh. Hey, isn't there some kind of post-game wrap up show about the previous post-game wrap up show's opinions about the pre-game show's predictions? GAG ME.

ha i'm with you on that. every sunday i work 8 1/2 hours and the guys i work with wont' be working too much cuz they'll be sitting in the break room or the print room watching one of the many football games on tv for awhile. pisses me off cuz i'm out there working and they're still getting paid more than me for doing nothing

The world series this year is great. White Sox haven't won in 87 years and this is the first year for the Astros!!!! I'm a red sox fan but I still watching. As for football that is an entirely different story. I can't stand to watch it!!! playing is alright but watching just sucks ass. Hockey is the only other sport besides baseball that i enjoy watching. And you couldn't have watched the simpsons tonight anyway!!!!! It's world series time bitches!!!! Peace-

woo......too much sport-talk for me. i only watch motorsport anyway, an about a hour a week of that, rarely more.

i watch little tv, i like my art an that. i've abandoned my hobbies and work ha taken its place....damn i miss building my models...

yea, if you're gonna spend all day driving in circles there really should be more crashes, explosions etc...

So your mad because other people have hobbies that you dont? The world series this year is awesome, like PB said. I'm also a bo-sox fan but im still watching. Its something entertaining to watch on days off. Generally people have sundays off and want to relax. Why not do that infront of a tv watching football having a beer? Its entertaining. You dont like it? Go outside and play hop-scotch.

i watch some sports, but i can't stand watchin sports all day! I watch NASCAR races occasionally, but i'm usually workin on somethin and not realy payin a lot of attention to it.

BAH! I don't care about other people's hobbies -- if I had something against them I'd be a hypocrite, now wouldn't I? What I don't understand is the rationale behind it. What I don't like is that (Football in particular) is such an omnipresent thing that it dominates the television from noon 'till bedtime, muscling everything else out of its way. It just so happens that MY idea of a Sunday night is relaxing and watching a new episode of The Simpsons, not watching a bunch of guys rolling tarp over a baseball diamond while the announcer waxes philosophically about the finer points of a rain delay.

I suppose I normally wouldn't care too much about all of this anyways, as spending my Sunday chugging beers and talking fantasy football takes a very very distant backseat to doing stuff outside. However, we here in the Northeast have been dealing with nothing but rain for the last couple weeks (and it always seems to ruin the weekends) and there looks to be a few more weeks worth in the very near future.

here's an idea. don't watch FOX in mid october. simple solution. FOX (or whatever channel airing the series) will put all their programming to the side to show the world series. so i suggest, for the next few games, don't watch them and go do something constructive, in a week your precious simpsons will be back on.

And the World Series is great this year because the Yankees and Red Sox aren't in it.

FYI the Yankees AND Red Sox cant be in the world series together. The sox have been in it once in the last however many years so i dont see why you put them with the yankees.

Football dominates what? maybe 2-3 channels. Obviously more if you have NFL ticket or something similiar from your cable or satelite company. Which if you have either is about 1% of all your channels. Buy another tv and stop complaining.

I can't stand sports. Maybe because I'm athletically inept. But I cant even stand a second's worth of any sport. I like watching highlights and stuff, but not like a lot of sports buff. I guess it works the other way too... people can't understand why i love cars so much. Theyre all " a car just takes you from a to b..."
