stiff pedal, slipping clutch 88 2.6L

Hi Gang,

I'm having an intermittent problem with my clutch pedal getting stiff and, at the same time, the clutch slipping. It seems to be heat related as it gets worse when the truck has been idling for awhile. In the morning (when its cold) it's always fine-- smooth pedal and the clutch begins to disenegage about half way out. Any ideas? Master cylinder? I replaced the slave cylinder and rubber hydraulic line to it to no avail. Thanks for your help.

Did you change the brake fluid and flush the system? Dirt in the fluid seems to clogs the system and the system is slow to restore to the engaged position. I've not had that problem on the 86 Trooper (Cable actuated clutch).but my 80 Honda had the same symptoms.
