'92 DOHC Engine Swap
I am getting ready to swap the engine out of a '92 sc2 automatic coupe to a '92 sl2 sedan with a stick. Same engine VIN code (DOHC 1.9 in both). Just wondering what I'm in for time wise and difficulty or if it even works. Any tips/tricks/shortcuts would be greatly appreciated. Also possibly considering converting the stick to auto while I'm at it, so I'd like to hear thoughts on that also. Thanks in advance for any help

Re: '92 DOHC Engine Swap
R&I engine and trans with manual trans
http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28361 R&I engine only with auto trans - http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28360 R&I auto trans only - http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29954 trans swap (from auto to manual, i guess thats better then nothing)- http://www.differentracing.com/tech_...anny_swap.html to add a auto trans you will need to at least also change the radiator, PCM, wiring harness, shifter and cable, maybe fuse box, also don't know about yours but in later years the cluster has one different light, but you don't need to change it(upshift arrow vs shift to D2) |

Re: '92 DOHC Engine Swap
one ques. why switch to an auto tranny, they have been known to slip alot i changed my 93sl2 to a 5-speed trans.there was alot of wiring to do to get it done but well worth it. But you can swap the engine if you want to its pretty easy . hit me up at alg8-16excite.com

Thanks billy, gonna stick with the stick after all. Better gas mileage and more reliable from what I hear.
