gear ratio?

Can the gear ratio be determined from the VIN? Maybe using that to get a build sheet? Looking at a used 2003 Suburban from a dealer. It has the towing package but tow capacity is based on gear ratio, 3.73 or 4.10. Wanting to tow a 35' travel trailer just over 8000#.

Thanks for any help,
Rob

Re: gear ratio?

That one came from the factory with the 3.73 set up.

the glove box should have all the numbers to determine what the vehicle has as built.

these codes will tell you just about everything specific to your vehicle.... the dealership can with the vin# look up this info if the label has been destroyed. if the label has been removed get a vehicle history report ! be safe !

All true. I used your VIN to pull the RPO codes. You have RPO GT4 (3.73 ratio) and G80 (locking rear diff). I can also tell you the delivering dealer was Winner Chevrolet Inc. in Ayden N.C.
