Dashboard lights not working.

I recently acquired a 1999 626 and the dashboard lights do not seem to be working. There is a little illumination on the far right hand side. Is this something I can repair, or do I need to replace the entire instrument cluster. I went through and checked all the fuses, all good. I put in a new stereo in the car. When I ded, there was a wire labeled "illumination" that did not get used on my stereo, no match. Could that be it? Where would I wire that to?
