Anyone else really love wes anderson for those movies..? Those 2 movies portray such a, everyday symptom of alot of people...DEPRESSION.
In the Royal Tenenbaums, and Rushmore...ever notice almost every character is depressed in there own way..? It's funny cause that's how life is, in general. I just like to see movies like that, cause they are refreshing...in an odd way. PS, think about it, do you really know someone that is TRULY happy..? i bet not.

I agree. He's one of those few directors that knows how to make cool shit from otherwise boring situations. Its happy but its sad, its kind of realistic but then again it's completely stylized. The sense of humor is much different too, guess it's an aquired taste... movies like "A Mighty Wind", "Best in Show", and "This is Spinal Tap" are funny in the same way.
I wouldn't call his movies depressing though... check out "Midnight Cowboy" for a sad movie. have you seen "Bottlerocket" or "Life Aquatic" yet?

Agreed. I like all the Wes Anderson films (Probably Bottle Rocket and Tennenbaums the most). Does anyone know when the next one comes out? |
