I just drove a...

I just drove a 1983 Honda Civic 4-door sedan CONVERTIBLE.

That's right, it had no roof. My friend bought it for $100 and cut the roof off. We just got it running today and drove it around the block a bit. You wouldn`t believe how many looks and comments it got! People left and right were staring and/or yelling "Nice car!", "Look at that car Billy!", "Oh man, that's so cool!" ALMOST as many comments and looks as I got when I rode in a Ferrari a couple years back...this thing was fun! I'll probably go and take pics of it tomorrow and post them here.

Lol, the thumb is really there Anyways, we could care less if it falls apart, it was only $100 Canadian. We've never driven it very fast or done any crazy stuff with it, so it holds together good enough. If my friend keeps it for much longer, he will put in a horizontal roll bar behind the front seats, and paint over the Bondo in the door handle holes

lol

I like it!

It actualy looks really good!
You've done a really nice jog across the top of the window!

All it needs is the carpet removed and the some vinyl seats so it dosnt matter when it rains, and then you have the ultimate cheap student crusing wagon and chick magnet!

Hey sorry I missed ya...I'm back home in NB now for the summer, but I was going to Georgian (CAI). Maybe we can meet up when I come back in late August. My friend was boarding in a house on Cheltenham (sp?) and that road and whole area was f@#$in dirty as hell, I always ended up with mud all over my tires and dirt all over my car after 5 minutes of driving around there. Anyways, the Civic is way down near the intersection of Essa and Mapleview...just turn onto Mapleview AWAY from the Walmart and Canadian Tire, and you'll come to an intersection with a little plaza mall thing, the street has a school, he's straight across from the school.

I'll let you know when I'm back.

Here is another thing I noticed about the picture LOOK HOW WIDE YOUR ROADS ARE!!!!!!, one lane is like the width of a two lane NZ road!!!!!! Also you have proper full-size Chevy vans, not any of the pussy FIAT Ducato's, Ford Transit's and Toyota Hiaces that pollute NZ commercial routes!!!!!!

Well, that road is the exception, not the rule, but most roads in Barrie, especially new ones like that tend to be very wide so that mammoth SUV's can park on either side of the road and 2 more mammoth SUV's can easily drive between the parked ones (4 cars across with some room to spare)

The beat up blue van is my friend's (with the Civic) parts van, and the silver two tone one parked across the street in the last picture is his daily driver...a 1986 Chev Astro 5-speed with no rear bumper

BTW...those aren't the full-size Chev vans....those are the midsized ones

If it snows....you get snowed on

It's dead now. When he first got it, the pass. front lower control arm was broken in half, so that wheel had like 10 degrees neg. camber. You had to drive with the wheel turned 90 degrees, and at 40 kph the tire was just howling like crazy. My friend took it into the trails and finished killing it
