Swap

I'm still pretty new to the automotive world...I'm saving up to buy my first car, and I am torn between a MR2 Turbo or a GSX...After looking online at the current selling prices of MR2s (KBB is about $3500, but no one will sell for under $6000), I think that I will eventually get a GSX...I know these are probably VERY common questions, but I sometimes find it hard to understand what the sticky threads say, or I won't find my answer at all...If you don't mind, here are my questions:

I am thinking of getting a 95 GSX...What should I be looking to pay? And what is the MAX I should pay for a stock one?

What would be a good motor to swap into it? I have found a JDM 4G63T at http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/ that comes with tranny, ECU, etc. Would that fit, or is there a better swap?

What brand(s) are the "best" for the GSX, but are still offered at a reasonable price?

I know these are probably questions I could have found online, but I would rather turn to you guys to help me out...Thanks again...

1. Depends on mileage, options, etc. I would say the max could be as high as $5k, in good condition.

2. Don't need to swap any motor into it. It already has a 4g63. Stick with it since it sounds like you don't have a whole lot of money to throw out. Maybe a rebuild later on....

3. Brands depend on products. Give some examples of things you would want to upgrade, and we can try and give you decent brands for that specific part. It all varies. Some brands are better are certain parts than other, not just in general.

I just made that up, and I like it.

Re: Swap

I find that trying to get all your questions answered in one thread can be pretty tough sometimes, especially questions like these. The best thing to do is to stick around the forum and learn by reading the technical threads and various posts from other members. You can learn a lot just by reading on here, more so than always being the one to ask questions.
