so it just revs when you try to go forward or backwards? Is there a gap at all where the trans bolts back up to the engine block?

What are you talking about? Why would there be a gap?? do you know how much of a god aweful noise that would make from the imput shaft? Not to mention the clutch and flywheel.

I hate to say it but it has been done by some people on here. Just was a suggestion. Mine when i got it was not bolted all the way and it still ran with no noise. Would have never noticed. But then decided to put a new clutch and fork and all that you know. Quadrant, cable, fork, firewall adjuster you know to replace the cheap stock stuff before i got real problems.

Wow, I would have thought it would have been a hell of a noise. Just because i figured the imput shaft would bind. Hmm.. Learn something new everyday.. In that case .. good point..
