Bypassing A/C pully. Will I still have heat?
Hello, I have a Yellow 99 Dodge Dakota 5.2L 318 4x4 automatic regular cab.
My A/C pully is squeaking REALLY bad and I was told that instead of spending more on a pully and/or compressor I could simply take the belt I have now off and get a new smaller belt that would simply bypass the A/C pully making that pully not used. Would that make that very awfull squeaking stop? I just dont have the big bucks to spend on the compressor right now and am looking for a quick fix ![]() My question is with it already gettin really cold at nights and whatnot would I still have a heater? Would my defroster still work and would it give out heat or just "air"? I know I wouldnt have A/C which is fine cause I have owned my truck for alomost 2 years and have prolly used A/C about 4 times i'd say, hate it ![]() I did a search for anything pertaining to this topic and didnt find anything. Sorry if this is a repost! Anyhelp is helpfull! ThankYou!! |

your heat should still work the humidity just wont come out of the air in the winter

the A/C is completely seperate from your heater it will not effect anything
try buying a belt for the same truck but without a/c the routing may be slightly different but might be displayed under the hood by the radiator. |
