Wowzors!

This really isn't a street race but it "could" have been clasified as one. So the other night I finally get the chance to go to the darg strip, my first time ever. Started off the night about a full second off what I'm suppose to be running, by the end of the night I got to about 2/10ths of a second off.
Anyways, this one run was between me and a 2005 Nissa Sentra SE-R Spec-V. As far as I could see, he only had an exhaust but I'm positive he had more.
So we line it up, and I bring the revs to 2.5k-3k. Well I don't know much about drag racing on the stri[ so I wated for the green to come on before I launched, wheras he left on the last yellow light...so he obviously got me off the start.
No matter he isn't a whole deal further than me, maybe 1/8th of a car length. And for the whole 1st to 2nd gear shift, we were dead even. I shift into second and gain some ground, not much, and very slowly. So the track is coming at an end and so is my 2nd gear...SLAM into 3rd, my final gear in a 1/4 mile and gain some more ground.
This was way more than 15 seconds when I was driving because it was so dead even, inch for inch we fought until the very end were I somehow just edged him out for the victory. My heart was beating so goddamn fast, I have never had a race so damn close in my life. Can't wait to get some things done and go back and race again.

My final ET was 15.314 (also my best of the night) and his was 15.443.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: Wowzors!

Here's the slip...sorry for bad pick, sending in my camera for a repair, so this is the best I can do.

As you can see my 60ft times need major improvement, traction is my enemy, especially on the stock tires. And everything is stock, even had the spare in the back and half a tank of gas.

Oh and as for tall gears, you can say that again...crossing the line I was sitting at under 6500rpms, and I was shifting every gear at 7000rpm
