Pull to the right.
Hello all. Having a bit of a problem with a 98 Dakota 4x4. Tires about 6 months old. Have recently replaced brakes all the way around and rotated tires about 2 months ago. Truck drove fine afterwards. In the last week or so noticed a pull to the right. Not horrible but if you let go of the steering wheel you will be in the ditch within a 150ft. Haven't had the truck alligned in awhile so took it to get alligned. Still pulls to the right. Took it back to the place that alligned it and they rotated the tires again. Still pulls to the right and today was at the shop for the 3rd time and the guys that worked on it are scratchin their heads. They said between them they had 60yrs experience with drive trains and suspentions and don't have a clue why it is still pulling to the right. They said they could adjust the camber but would cause uneven tire wear. Anyone out there have a simular problem and figured it out? Any help would be appreciated. GJ10

Re: Pull to the right.
Could be a worn out wheel bearing. Is the steering tight or loose on the highway??
It also wouldn't hurt to try another shop. I went through the same problem until I took my Dak to another shop. The first shop thought they knew how to do an alignment on a 4X4 Dak, but didn't. The second shop I went to, did it right!!! |

Re: Re: Pull to the right.
I have been hearing a small squeal in the front end. I thought a wheel bearring might do this, but its not noticeable unless you have the windows down and then it seems to come and go. Thanks for the advice.

3rd time was the charm. They said they got it as good as they can get it. They also said it still pulls to the right and didn't know what was wrong with it. However when we drove it, you now go 100-150 yrds or so before you need a correction, which is much much better than 150ft and your in the ditch as before. Thanks for the advice.
