1991 sputtering and skipping - any ideas???

My 1991, 4 cyl, auto, w/ 112,000 started sputtering and skipping a little. It still idles fine and accelerates fine but skips and sputters slightly (so far) when going at a steady speed. Has anyone had and fixed this problem? Thanks.

My 89 was doing this as well, but with a miss while accel. I disconnected the O2 sensor just for the heck of it, and it ran much better. Sensor was faulty.

There was quite a bit of oil leaking out under the dist. cap. I took it off, cleaned it, and put it back on and it ran fine. I'll have to change the cam seal.
