what to expect from a ported 12a?

just wondering, the car right now is just under 2100lbs, im not sure what to expect if i were to streetport or bridgeport it, what kind of other cars could i beat? my main goal would have to be a friend's vw r32, and thats about it, if i can beat that, im happy, just wondering what i need to get to this point, but also wanna be able to slide the rear wheels around turns.

i dont think you'll be able to beat him in a straight line

well, on second thought, depends on the type of port. usually the crazier the port the worse the driveability, i say usually because there are guys with full bridgeports that idle fine

VW's are fast little rides.

And there is no way to tell you exactly what kind of power you will be making out of a 12A or any rotary for that matter. It all depends on the porting and tuning that is done to the car. Not all port jobs are the same, there are many variations of each type of porting.
