When you start the car can you turn the steering wheel or is it locked?

when you press on the brake to do hear a click? I can't remember what it is called but there is a safety feature on these cars that won't allow you to change out of park without depressing the brake. It may be damaged.

Can you move the gear selector? Is it jammed or is the selector moving but the transmission not changeing gears.

MORE INFO REQUIRED TO HELP YOU!!!

Re: getting 94 crown vic out of park

Check to see if you have brake lights. If no brake lights, look at the connector on brake switch or the switch itself. Ford had a problem with the connector breaking apart. You can get it out of park by turning the key one notch past lock, place shifter in neutral, start car and put it in gear.

Re: getting 94 crown vic out of park

My 94 Crown Vic would not go into park...a bolt had come loose under the dash that holds a bracket for the shift cable. Also had to readjust linkage at transmission.
