1996 to 2001 Century's, Any Chronic Problems /
Hello, I am new to this forum.
I am considering replacing my failing 1985 Monte Carlo with a "Century" between the years of 1996 & 2001. (But only with the 3.8 Liter Engine.) I am overwelmed & confused by the amount of information on problems with these cars. Is there anyone that can tell me which year is the most reliable, and if there is a certain year, are there any Chronic problems that I should be aware of? I know nothing about fixing cars and would greatly appreciate any help that you can give me. Thank you, Clyde Howell |

Beware of 4T65E Transaxle
Seems that the 4T65E transaxle has major defect. I have a 2000 Century with the problem, harsh shifting. I don't know what other years have the same problem but search the forum and you find several posts complaining about it.
