My chose or not?

This subject may not have really to do with anything but its just something i think of everyonce in a while. I have come to the realization that i have no religion right now, and that i must look in my own ways to fine my own religon and in that search i will find my own person and belief systems. When i hold conversations like that with people i tell them at the present time i dont believe in any religion over any other, in my mind none is wrong and none is right. As i ponder on this i come to the realization that i am a babtised catholic but i dont chose to be catholic or rather i have not chose to be one yet.

I am a Catholic. I don't goto to church every sunday, I rarely ever go, I have other catholic friends who don't go often, or who have recently stopped going to church as often. We just choose not to but still follow the religion. We like Catholitisim because it doesn't say anything about not doing anything bad, we think that it says have a good time do what you want just don't have sex with multiple partners or before marriage. But some choose to ignore that part.

I don't think you are wrong in any way, shape, or form. I think you've got the right idea. As a spiritual person, who believes strongly in faith, belief systems, and even the notion of God, but NOT organized religion. I think this is the ticket. If you examine the life of Jesus, I don't believe for a second that he intended the Church to become as it is today. I believe that he envisioned it as more of an individual spirituality, not this grand, tangible thing. Explore your own beliefs, and take from your religion what you wish. Seems perfectly fair to me, and a good way to have faith.

I know this'll piss you guys off - but that kind of logic is way off base.

Choose your own religeon? WTF? If you believe strongly enough in a higher power, being God, and ONE God, why don't you simply do what He has outlined as far as rules in the Bible?

How, can 2 people believe 2 totally different things, and both be right? It's kind of like me believing the sky is Neon Orange in China, and someone else it's Bright pink. So, by faith, are we BOTH right?

OF COURSE NOT!

Religeon is a MUCH greater thing to concern ones self with than the colour of the sky, but you get my idea.

CHOOSE WISELY.

Herein lies the difference. I believe in God, and having faith, and the lessons of the Bible, but that's it. The church is run by mortals, people like you and me. True, they are educated and trained for their jobs, but I don't believe them to be "special" in the implied sense here. And two different people have two different perceptions of faith and spirituality is as natural as one person liking vanilla and another liking chocolate. Why does it have to be so structured? It just makes zero sense to me.

if i could chose I'd be a Rasta!! then again maybe not... they smoke marijuana to honour god (otherwise they're pretty much the same as christians)
then again it wouldn't be that good, cause they can't smoke tobacco or drink alcohol

I beleive that you should believe in what you were raised in.. cause if you believe in one thing and stick to it, no matter what religion it is, i think god will recognize you for it

I believe religion is tied into somewhat your behavior or ideals are. I'm very much a realist and somewhat of a cynist. But I believe in God and know he's my piece of mind. In a way, your parents bring you into A religion and as I see it, you take it from there. You understand what I'm saying? I don't go to church every Sunday, come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I went. But nevertheless, I take a moment of reflection every now and then and look at what I've done and been through. That for me does it. So it's really up what you define in your life as to what is right and what is wrong.

Take time in choosing this as you don't want to have to keep changing it.

yeah you don't want to change it just because something wasn't comfortable for you... that's not the point, religion isn't supposed to let you do whatever you want (even though most of us do )
