92 Marquis fuel pump problem or?

Hello,
I have a 92 Marquis ,back in late 03' car died on road, and I had a new fuel pump put in it and she seemed fine. A few months later the gauge showing amt of fuel left stopped working and the letters CO show up instead. Then in early 05' while driving, the car lost power and stopped. I replaced the fuse for the fuel pump and car seemed fine, until today. Same problem as before, car lost power and stopped. I replaced the fuel pump fuse again and car started fine, ran about 2 blocks and died again. Replaced fuse again and finally made it to my house. Has anyone had this problem and can you give me any indications as to it's cause? Thanks for any help with this matter.

Did you try seeing if it is even a fuel pump problem? This might sound weird but even if you replace a good part next to the bad part, it will operate good for awhile as the bad part starts to send its junk next to the good part. So... What I would do is check your fuel injector and the line its self. Check out the fuel filter, too. If there is some blockage there, it will result in loss of power.

That is just a suggestion. It seems to me there is a blockage and not something really resulting from your fuses.
