Re: Question

nice work

you need to consider your markets financial capabilities (how much money high schoolers have)

If you charge $40 per that's like 2 weeks spending money (lol) you might want to ride in the $25 - $35 range and work on cutting down the time it takes you to draw a car.

If you come up with some type of system that will allow you to have high quality and speed you might do pretty good for yourself.

If you get your time down to 2 - 3 hours now you're in the ~$10 an hour range...not bad for a 15 year old.

You also want to be careful of over saturating your audience. If you act like it's a special big deal for you to do this for someone then you can charge much more and they feel like they're getting a deal.

Remember also that these are your friends so don't beat'em up too bad.

You could use a little work on the perspective and proportions. I would suggest working your line a little more before jumping into detail. Adding detail won't correct perspective that is off.

Re: Question

lol, 10-20$ is too much for highschoolers... seriously, they wont buy it, if its 5 bux, even at worst 10, then u have chances of selling it.

What is the size of the paper ur drawing on? Normal 8.5x11 or 11x17??

Re: Question

Can only charge what kids will pay. I sold a 6 month pen and ink stipple drawing for 10 bucks.

Re: Question

I would charge $20. If you go much lower, they will think it is worth less than it is. If their parents will spend $320 for a new ipod, they can swing $20 for a drawing. If they won't spend that - sell it to someone else.

Selling your artwork for money is always a good idea, But when does art need to be for money? Maybe its just me, but i tend to draw for fun, or as a past time. I'm not sure of where you live, but when i was in highschool, No one would spend 20 dollars on a drawing. Exspecially for a pencil drawing. Your drawings are good, don't get me wrong. But my opinion is.. Spend more time drawing, then worrying about how much to sell your stuff for.

For your age, you are a very talented artist. I love your concept way of drawing out cars.

Keep up the good work, Would love to see more stuff from you in the future.

Platinum
