Car wont start
Help! I have a 1997 Saturn SC1. The car starts to crank but does not turn over, it just makes a rapid ticking sound. Why won't the car start?

Re: Car wont start
Sounds like either the battery is dead or you have a bad starter. Is it turning over at all? Usually the click is because you have just enough power to kick over the relay or if you have a bad starter, the relay clicks in but the starter is seized. I doubt the engine seized from just sitting there

Re: Car wont start
i argee with the bad starter or battery theorys.try a jump start, if you have a manual trans also try a push start. there is also a small chance you have a damaged flywheel.

Turns out, it was the battery. I was so glad that it wasn't something expensive.
