fast and the furious goodies

Ok we all saw F&F. now my question is in the green Mitsubishi he had AEM'S engine management system. That runs off the lap top in the passengers seat but what are those cool bar graphs on the in dash monitor? And in the trunk of the Mazda he had that equlizer on that screen how do you go about doing that? Don't know much about the car audio in dash monitors and stuff

Thanks
Chad

thats the type of stuff most people don't do on their own, or at least around here. If you wire something up wrong you could 'cause a fire. I don't know why the writers had to do dumb stuff like that, in the end people like us just tear the movie apart on the internet. I guess R.J. DeVera and Craig Leberman weren't good enough tech advisers

just to let you know, that eclipse didn't have the aem e-management or what ever its called. that model of eclipse wouldn't even support the new AEM system. and i can pretty much bet you that all of those graphics on the screen where just for show, did absolutley nothing for performance.

your cheapest will be around $1,000. I got an Alpi9ne mobile multimedia stations unit in my escort and it cost $999. You can get a sony one for the same.

that movie caused the whole import scene to go down the drains.

i know someone who actualy worked on the movie. what a joke! they literally picked up every import catalog they could find and ordered one of everything. then the "grips" (guys who do the lighting and sound) put the cars together! none of those cars (not talking about the extras in the background) were put together by an actual mechanic....or even someone who owns an import.

there is no mystery why that movie is such a joke all i have to say is...thank god i know what's really going on. (LOL)

as for the stereo stuff and electronics....i highly agree. stop by some shops and get some info. hooking stuff up wrong can cause serious problems like fire or shorting out electronic things in your car

If I had the half budget they did, I could make one twice as good using Dodge Neons

you know what? it's all good. i'm a big believer of do to your car whatever makes you happy. after all, you have to drive it. so, make yourself happy.

i think i'm just really sick of it. you open a mag. and you see the words "fast and the furious" somewhere in the ad's catch phrase. you turn on the radio and there are sound bite from the movie in car ads. you walk around a store and see hats and tee shirts. you get in your car and say every 2 out of 5 cars has stickers and/or is trying to race somebody (if not you).

but i can't hate on the promotions dept. you know they have fat pockets! :licker:

Well, that is the one thing that I DO hate... Promotions people are the cause of all this over-saturation. Its like hearing a good song on the radio, and then you can't stand hearing it anymore because its everywhere...

You have to be very dumb to cause a fire. I do know someone who has done it though.

Th Eq was an alpine unit.

It would, but I don't think it was released yet. It looks like the graphics were added "after the fact" like a blue screen or whatever. It looked like AEMs program but it could have been anything. I bet it was actually just a .gif or other movie thing made of screen shots because that would make it easier to time.
