New 2007 Yukon

When it goes on sale early next year, the 2007 Yukon will be available in three trim levels -- SLE with cloth trim, SLT with leather trim and Denali. The Yukon Denali gets a different grille design and a 6.2-liter V-8 engine rated at 380 horsepower and mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The base engine for two-wheel-drive versions of the Yukon will be a 4.8-liter V-8 rated at 290 hp. But that engine won't be available at the start of production. The new Yukon will launch with a 5.3-liter V-8 rated at 320 hp and equipped with cylinder deactivation technology to improve fuel economy.

It's ok, I still like the 2001-2006 Models the best. I saw the Yukon XL concept and it was similar. I have been hearing they're going to cut the XLs and Suburbans in 08 though as they haven't been selling to well the past 3 years. Ford also cut the Excursion.

Would the 4.2 liter I-6 from the Envoy work well in the new Yukon?

The Vortec 4200 six–cylinder engine now generates 291 hp in the 2006 Envoy at 6000 rpm and 277 lb.–ft. of torque at 3600 rpm. 90 percent of the torque is available from 1600 rpm to 5600 rpm.

ELJ. exactly my thoughts in the 07 Denali post previous to this one. Not a coincidence. If we both had the same thoughts others might as well. I predict that this will not be a big seller. When you start to make your product look like similar (and cheaper) products on the market you will loose.

The new Denali's interior is a lot better than the current one.

Looks nice...but ergonomics-wise, I think the nav screen could have been placed a bit higher.

I like the interior but the exterior absolutly DOES look too much like a cross between a envoy and a ford. I think it's kind of ugly.

Re: New 2007 Yukon

GMCs Website says the XL is coming soon. However I don't know for how long as my dealer told me that the XLs aren't selling well and GM is considering cutting them in the next two years.

I tow my trailer for my four wheelers with my Yukon Denali, how does the extended wheelbase help? Just curious.

The extended wheelbase keeps the tow vehicle more stable, and it gives it a nicer ride. imagine if the wheelbase was 12". your truck would be rocking back and forth like your in the ocean.

a bigger boat rides smoother through the ocean.

Re: New 2007 Yukon

Ha ha I got ya. I guess that's why these childless couples buy the XLs. Having the extra room and not utilizing it seems like a waste to me. I guess they tow a lot of stuff.

Re: New 2007 Yukon

I've towed a trailer with my near 3800 lb FS P'up on back, and it road fine. I've got the 5.3 in it, and my only complaint was it down shifting to pull the weight at hwy speeds (cruise is terrible for towing). As far as ride comfort, it holds up fine. Also towed with my father's XL, and cannot tell any difference.
