Question 95 GT Mustang running rough.

Okay I have a 1995 GT Mustang 5.0 V8... and it's running rough.

I recently bought the vehicle and thought I was being smart when I sprayed the engine bay over with degreaser and then water blasted it to clean it out... I was working on the basis that I'd then be able to see any leaks that developed.

After I had washed it the engine wouldn't start, so I took the distributor cap off and dried it out, checked the spark plug shoes and made sure everything electrical appeared dry... and I got the engine to start eventually... but it ran really rough, specifically at 1000 rpm, both above and below this range it seems ok.. and when I say rough I mean bad, the whole chassis shakes like hell.

So then I changed the spark plugs, spark plug cables, did a compression test (fine), cleaned the air filter, replaced the distributor cap and arm and none of it seemed to make much difference... it still shakes like hell at 1000 rpm...

I'm dying here and I need my car back on the road... if you have ANY IDEA what it might be, what I need to look at especially if you've had this problem before... I beg you to tell me what the problem might be.

Thanks!

Re: 95 GT Mustang running rough.

Check for vacuum leaks.
The distributer may still have some moisture in it.

Re: 95 GT Mustang running rough.

Also If U Used High Pressure You Might Have Nock Lose A Sensor, Or If You Had Parts Off. You Might Have Got Water In The Intake. But Also Check The Crank Shaft Possision Sensor It Could Posable Shorted Out. Are Somthing Else Shorted Out.
