how much would it cost to have the timing belt changed
well im hitting 70k now and i think that its time for the timing belt to be changed. i heard the the motor blows up if the belt breaks. that seems like a lack of planning on nissans part. the 4 banger came with a timing chain but v6 gets a rubber belt. anyways do you have to pull the motor out to do it.

Re: how much would it cost to have the timing belt changed
Probably around $300 give or take, but you'll also want to replace the water pump while they're in there and your other belts, so it'll go higher than $300.

I had the Sr. Tech out at the local dealership do mine. He charged me $300, which included the water pump. If I would have made an appt. with the dealership, it would have cost me $480. So if you know any of the tech at you dealership, talk to them about doing it. They will more than gladly do it because that''s money in their pocket.
