speedometer
i have a 92 sc2 dohc and im having a lil trouble with my speedo. everything seems to be workin but when i get up to about 60mph my needle starts to jump up and down slow at first but the faster i appear to go my faster and wider range my needls moves. what cold the problem be and could it be an easy fix? thanx

possible problems
1. vehicle speed sensor 2. PCM 3. gauge cluster 4. wiring most likey the gauge cluster IMHO, but diagnosis require special tools(scantool at a minium). sorry i can't be more of a help

so theres basicaly nothin i can do w/o a scan tool? if i had one would it read any error codes or would any even be present if there are no warning lights on?

no codes, you would watch the live data stream to determind what the PCM reads for speed, then use a osilioscope to confirm. you could just use the osilioscope but it would be a little harder. in cases like this, the gauge cluster is the most common problem IMO. if diagonsis is to much, you might be able to find a cheap cluster at a local junk yard.
