00 Cav temp gauge

hi guys...

just got a new 00 Cav and wonder why upon starting the temp gauge
rise dramatically and settle in the middle reading 90, even fresh start early in the morning, is it the normal setting for this car or something wrong with the thermostat? at noon time it was near the red line and almost got overheat with AC on, i did add an auxillary fan infront as my mechanic advise but still the same. the coolant is at full mark and
water pump is ok, is there a way to rectify this problem?

BTW i was currently working and living here in saudi arabia.

please advise.

thanks.

Re: 00 Cav temp gauge

Is your upper radiator hose hot or cool to the touch? If it's cool, you likely have a stuck thermostat. If it's hot, you may check your temp sensor. It may be faulty. You could also have a partially plugged radiator not providing sufficient cooling capabilities.

00 Cav temp gauge

cdru,

yes upper radiator is hot, that was i suspect first a stuck thermostat
and replace it with new one but still the same and even add more heat
so decided to remove it.

i haven't check the sensor cause somebody told me that this kind of
car is intended only in cold places like canada or usa, and a mistake exporting it here in saudi arabia. but i think theres a solution on this cause there are lot of american cars in here.

thanks.
