SeaFoam

I have used SeaFoam fuel as a system cleaner as long as I can remember, Why I don't know but I run a can thru the tank every 20-25k miles and have had no fuel related problems. The can does say that it can be used in the crankcase oil as a cleanup. Anyone use this in the engine before?

Re: SeaFoam

Seafoam is supposed to be some good stuff, I've never used it though, Do a SEARCH on seafoam, all of your questions should be answered then.

Heard of lots of people using it in their oil system as a slow flush.

1/2 a can in the gas tank, rest of the can in the crankcase, drive 500 miles and dump the oil and do an oil change.

I have yet to use seafoam, I think I heard it fouls plugs easily but I could be wrong. I really like Marvel Mystery oil in the gas tank and the price is unbeatable! Autozone $2.99 for a 32 ounce bottle and per 10 gallons of gas you use 4 ounces of Marvel Mystery oil. Basically get 4 treatments out of it. I like it.

Re: SeaFoam

Seafoam will foam the plugs when you suck it through the PCV line for combustion chamber cleaning.

Re: SeaFoam

I can't say I've ever heard of something "foaming" the plugs before...

Re: SeaFoam

It doesn't foam, it fogs the cylinders and removes excess carbon.

This can also be done with water which is what I use seing there is no residue.

Re: SeaFoam

sea foam, your using it to often, but you are useing a great product... every few oil changes/ transmission services, 500 miles prior, put half a can into the fluid, and it helps thin it out and degrease the internals

It worked perfectly and didn't foul my plugs. Really happy about it.
