Question chevy tahoe anti theft or what???

i purchase a used 99 chevy tahoe...have had it about 2 years...has about 110K miles...since owning the vehicle i have had problems where it just won't start...can go two week or two months between problem ...it can take 30 minutes up to four hours before it will turn over and start...i have taken it to the dealer and they have replaced the ignition switch...but i think they were just guessing as to "why" .... it runs pretty well, the breaks are a little mushy, but otherwise have had no problems except this....any suggestions, advise, or clues as to the "why" would be greatly appreciated....it has left me stranded to many times...

It happens on my 99 Tahoe as well. You need to wait at least 10 min and the passlock resests. No sooner or it starts all ver, I am despretly looking for a solution. If anyone Knows please help.

Re: chevy tahoe anti theft or what???

anytime you turn the key & get nothing, the first thing to do is, while the key is turned in the "start" position, with your free hand, grab the shifter & move it from park down to neutral, & as far as drive if necessary to confirm that it's not the neutral/park safety switch either stucking or out of adjustment. you'd be surprised how often this is the case, & even more often, so many will test everything except this.
