ford intake class action nears settlement.

The lawsuit seeks to have the 7 year warranty extended to all affected vehicles. The Court will hold a final fairness hearing on October 7,2005. Here is a web site for the settlement.
Chamberlan v. Ford Settlement Administration website I did a google and found several news articles that listed the above site. ( Reimbursement Ahead For Ford Drivers?) There is also a toll free number (888)826-3047.

The composite/plastic intake manifolds on 4.6 engines are prone to cracking around the thermostat. Ford extended a warranty for fleet cars (taxi, police and limo) to 7 years but not for the general public. It appears that this lawsuit will force ford to do the same for the general public.
