Completed: Revell 2005 C6 Corvette

This is a kit I finished today. It's the Revell C6 Corvette. The model is painted in Tamiya Mica Red over Tamiya Italian Red, then cleared with Tamiya clear and poilshed. I stripped the chrome off the kit wheels and resprayed them with Tamiya Silver Leaf.

Overall, it's a decent kit. I had some fittment problems in the end. Once the hood hinge was on, the body wouldn't fit on the chassis like it should. The problem was that the hood hinge interered with the air-intake/filter on top of the engine. I removed the hinge but then the hood still wouldn't fit flush with the body so I removed the filter and glued the hood on, for the most part, making it curbside.

Still... it makes a decent shelf model. Thanks for looking.

Looks great

Sorry to hear about the fitment issues. I'm so disgusted w/all the paint problems recently I'm laying off models for awhile.

Amazing paint job! I'm...amazed. And your tips look great! What did you do, are they the kit peices? I like the brakes too.

Thumbs up

Looks absolutely great, the use of a red base coat and the Mica red makes the paint look miles deep, sorry to hear about the hood issues.

Thanks 99civichic, the tips are the turned metal tips that come with the kit and I painted the inside with flat black. The brakes are also kit brakes painted with tamiya silver leaf spray and washed with a testors thinned flat black enamel.

Great shine on that! Looks really nice.
Turned metal tips in the kit? That's unusual for Revell, I guess.

Bee-Yoo-Tee-Full! I love the paint, and the rims are much nicer than the stock chrome. Great job detailing the brakes and all, pity about the engine, though. Still, nice work!
