buick regal stalls when placed in reverse or drive

I should told everything: The car was running fine until my son hooked of a radio and amp and then the car cut off and thats when the problem started. I have a 97 buick regal supercharge 3800 engine. The problem we are running into is - the car was hard to start until I bypass the the fuel pump resistor. It will idle then, but as soon as you put it in drive or reverse the fuel pressure starts to drop and finally cuts off. I still can't get but 20 pounds of fuel pressure even with the resistor bypassed and without the resistor being bypassed, sometimes it will start and sometimes it won't, with little or no fuel pressure then. Someone said they had that problem it was the throttle position sensor. Which I 've never heard of, but I guest you never know. Already replace fuel regulator and fuel filter and checked fuses

Even with the resistor bypassed 20 psi fuel pressure is way too low. Sounds like a fuel pump issue to me.

Re: buick regal stalls when placed in reverse or drive

Okay here is what I did, I finally dropped the fuel tank. I hook 12 volts from battery directly to the fuel pump connector, and the fuel pressure gauge hooked directly to fuel pump outlet pipe, I got 80 psi. Then I rehooked the wiring harness to the the fuel pump connector with the fuel pressure gauge still on the fuel pump outlet pipe, I only got 20 psi. What do you think of that? Is their anything that could be short the voltage. Could the relays still be bad?
