Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass

As far as i'm concerned, this is probably the biggest question anyone could have when doing any kind of body work on a Tuner...

I, myself, like the looks of Carbon Fiber, however, I've heard from several people that it's bad to get as a hood if you have no Garage or drive in the elements alot because with the exposure to the sun & heat and the cooling, warming, the Moisture, then quick dying and so on -- that CF in essence just starts to peel like wood chips over time. Can anybody clarify on the authenticity of this particular statement?

Another question is: Which of the 2 is more Durable? Which will retain its original shape longer? (And of course) Which is lighter?

To make it short, which is more cost efficient?

Re: Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass

my suggest to anyone gettin a c/f hood is always get it clear coated again...
jus bring it to a local shop and have em spray clear coat on it ...

crappy clear coat from companies that dont do it well enough, will begin to turn yellow with over exposure to teh sun/ elements...

so if you are leaving you car outside alot, id suggest gettin a car cover.. or making/ finding a shady area for your tib...

if your hood is sealed and clear coated right, your hood should last you a good amount of time without warping/ mis coloring...

so if youre gonna buy one, know who youre dealing with (either its ebay or a company)
be an educated consumer...

IMO there's more of a variety in CF. Lotsa different styles to choose from. Free advice-beware of eBay hoods.

Thanks for your support, but I dun think it will be necessary. Got this response today.

"Talked to them yesterday, and aparrantly ( now this is what I'm being told )...
Roadway trucking is consolodating their warehouses and your hood was mis shipped to the wrong one..
I was also told you should see it by this Friday or Monday at the latest..
The lady at the shipper / crater told me to give you the phone # & you could call them to verify this if you'd like...
The # is xxx-xxx-xxxx
Also another thing that has aided in the delay is when you sent your phone #, I was away & didn't get it to them fast enough for them... ( plus them building the shipping crate & packing it up )...
As stated before, this is not the norm for me, but I don't have any other method for shipping large items ( and or crating them up )...
Anyway, thought I'd update you with what I found..."
