Hifonics

Hey I have a question about my sound system. I decided not to go with the Kicker System because of the prices. They are through the roof! I drive a 2000 Dodge Neon and am looking into the Hifonics products. I found an 2 channel amp called the zeus zx1000 with these specs:
1 x 1000 watts RMS into 4 ohms
2 x 500 watts RMS into 2 ohms
2 x 250 watts RMS into 4 ohms.

Would that work okay with the zeus zs12 Subwoofers (2 of them) with specs of:

350 watts Rms (each sub)
700 watts Peak (each sub)

? I really am a newbie and don't understand if the watts of the amp have to be exactly equal to the watts of the sub. Also, for a cpmponent system, I would get a 4-channel amp right? Thanks, please respond!

Re: Hifonics

I would first suggest different subs. You can pick up a couple of type R 12's on ebay for 300ish (get the 05 models) and go with a bx1205D from hifonics for power....... www.reaudio.com www.incriminatoraudio.com www.soundsplinter.com all those have good subs. Hifonics is about the best there is about the best there is for the money just pick an amp accordingly on your sub choice.

Re: Hifonics

I definately wouldn't classify Hifonics as great, unless your talking about the generation xx line which is pretty good. Everything thing else from hifonics is a budget prdoduct and is decent and pretty reliable, but not great.
