newbie on the board

Whats up fellas?
I've been checking out this forum for a while and it's pretty straight. I'm 21 from Northwest Florida and recently purchased my 1st 4th gen hatch. It's an 88 STD (hence the name and that's the only inclination in the name by the way) kinda off white with tan interior. I'm keeping the tan but soon painting it a nie shade of blue, maybe honda Si blue. I bought it for $600 with 1.5liter dual point f.i. Yea, it's slow but it's light and I may do a ZC or SOHC Vtec. I don't care for gawdy body kits (i got love for WW) so I'm gonna paint the stock bumpers, mirrors moldings and handles the same color as car (they're black now). I've already put some 17" ICW wheels on it and gonna drop it about 1.5" Here's a pic of it and a pic of my last project. Enjoy!

you can see i have some work ahead of me. It has the usual rust on the rear fenders and it had a big dent right behind the drivers door. I pulled it mostly out and had to skim with bondo. The bug is for sale by the way for $4800. Here is a link to a page about it... http://hometown.aol.com/im4u2nv81/myhomepageauto.html
tell your friends because the sooner I sale it the sooner the hatch gets the hookup. I still have to do some final sanding on the dent and fix the rust holes on the fenders then it hits the paint shop.

It has various names, some call it a swamp cooler, some call it a bee catcher, etc etc. It has a barrel in the tube that collects water (that is put in beforehand) when you pull a string that turns the barrel. Then the air comes in the front and evaporates the water which in turn is cooled by the incoming air, old-skool a/c. It doesn't really work here in FL because it's too humid, but in the west: Arizona, Cali areas it works great. But it sure as hell is pimp.

I don't mean to be rude, but grammatically, your name should be ihaveaSTD.

Guess my occupation

Of course, why you would want to advertise having a Sexually Transmitted Disease I dont know

Sorry. couldn't help it

Swamp cooler

Actually, I've been thinking for a long time about building a swamp cooler for my civic. I think it'd be easy to make out of fiberglass and PVC to fit right in the sun-roof... I found a how-to page on this once, and it seems pretty easy. If I ever do it, I'll post pics etc. It ads a little drag, but it's a good way to cool the inside of the car without losing too much HP from running an A/C system.

Picky me

Actually his screen name is grammatically correct. The letter S sounds like Ess, which starts with a vowel, which warrants the AN std. Same with F - eff. Gimme an S!

Back to bed.

I'm with setanta dude, "an" is only used if the next word starts with a vowel, not because it sounds like it starts with a vowel. It may sound better to say an before std, but it's not grammatically correct. aren't you AN english teacher setanta? I'm an engineer, so it's easy for me to be wrong, but I can pretend I know everything.
