2.8 swap??

ok well i have a 1988 camaro and it has a 2.8 and so far i have put a blaster coil in and a performance chip thing in and k and n air filters and took the cat off and replaced it with a pipe and replaced the distributer cap and rotor and the spark plugs and wires. and this monday or tuesday im putting in my lowering springs(1.75 inches lower) and my polyurathane bushing kit and kyb gas a just shocks and gr2 struts. its not really to fast and i would like to get a new engne to put in it. yet i dont want crappy gas mileage. i was thinking maybe a bigger 6 cylinder. anyone know of any 6 cylinder engines that are pretty fast that i could swap in there? thanks- tom

damn your maro looks just like my buddy's and you built it just like mine. unfortunately, no one likes 2.8's as i've come to realize. the closest thing i've come to performance upgrades for the engine can be found in the PAW catalog (818-678-3000), but they don't have much more than rebuild kits or new heads. the catalog's huge so there might be more little things hiding, but still...we're in the same boat. and it's slow.
