Upcoming suspsension decision...

Ok, I want something that doesnt beat the shit out of me everyday, but still provides enough stiffness to be...good. Least body roll possible!

As of right now, Im thinking about the SPL KTS coilovers, or Tanabe S-s Type II. I also considered the Tanabe S-oc IIs because they were cheap. I havent heard much about Tanabes coilovers, aside from the DDs. So, anyone have any opinions on these?!? Or should I spend a few more bucks and buy some of the new Tein Sideway masters? They are supposed to be beefed HEs arent they?

Any opinions? Im about to get wheels, and these will look like shit without lowering, and my suspension is shot anyways...I need coilovers.

$1150.00

the ride is decent i think the part that screwed up my ride the most was the subframe spacers. im not going to say that it isnt a rough ride but the streets and highways all suck around here so thats part of it.

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

Well, I want something stiff, just not like driving with steel rods for shocks... And those were the ones I was looking at, just minus the helper spring. Cheaper, and less bouncy. I dont like the bouncy.

Umm...

Megan racings can be picked up for 900. they can feel almost like 100% stock at the 32nd level...or at 16 its moderately stiff and Still good handling and at 0 its STIFF!!11! and almost no body roll period.

IIRC the second spring is very stiff so the larger spring can afford to be less stiff and give a better ride.

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

I've heard some questionable things about Megan. I would rather spend the extra few hundred bucks, to get something with good quality....not dissing megan at all.

As far as my price range, Ive been thinking about that alot. I COULD buy $2500 Kei Offices, but I dont want to spend that much, and I dont need the absolute best. This car isnt the only thing I put money into. Being in a band(guitars and equiptment), and trying to start a small business soon isnt exactly cheap. But I wanted to stay in the 1200-1400 range. The most I'd probably go is Silkroads, I really like those, they have a good reputation...I may end up getting them anyways.

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

Why not just do some springs/shocks and maybe strut bars/sway bars?

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

I want something adjustable, like height wise. I dont want to be "stuck" with just springs, plus, I dont drive a civic...ehh. Haha, no offense to you guys/girls. Sorry.

Im just over cautious with this investment. Its the biggest thing I've done to my car so far...so...I dont like taking a chance in getting something that I wont like, I may end up getting the Tanabes. I just want to make sure I get the best for the money.

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

Maybe the Buddy Clubs? They are exactly like the Megans, but cost 500$ more, that's means they are better. :-P

Re: Upcoming suspsension decision...

Ehh, if they are exactly like Megans....I wont go there.

Ok, so if I were to go with Tanabes, which are stiffer? I changed my mine, I want stiffer. The regular SS or the SS II? Do they come with the solid pillowmount/front camber plate for the S13 app? Or would I need invest in some later? I need to have my mind made up by...Monday, and I just want to know if there are anything wrong with these, that anyone has heard. If not, its what I'm getting.

Tanabe SS or SSII.
