1998 Honda Accord Coupe - Need Speakers

I just installed a Pioneer DEH-P4700MP head unit and I'd like to replace the stock speakers. I currently have the stock 6 speaker setup. 2 rear, 2 door, and tweeters (i think) on the dash.

I'd like to just have 4 speakers (2 rear and 2 door) and get 3-way speakers for the front and 2 way fo the rear.

I know zero about auto speakers, so I need some help. Should I get all 3-ways. Should I keep the tweaters on the dash?

Re: 1998 Honda Accord Coupe - Need Speakers

do you mean 3 way components or 3 way coaxials. since you said you know nothing about speakers, then here is the difference:
3 way coaxial:
One big speaker with to smaller speakers/tweeters in the middle of it
3 way component:
three seperate speakers/tweeters that are connected via a passive crossover

let me know and we might be able to help.

it doesn't really matter what type you get as long as they will fit in the specified locations. i guess, you could say that 3 way coaxials would produce more upper frequencies, but probably not enough to notice. it also depends on the price, as i'm sure you know. hope this helps. good luck.

one answer your goin to stumble across on here is, go listen to speakers at your car audio shops. make sure you know your budget, listen to ones in that range, and pick based on what sounds good to YOU.

one thing may sound perfect to me, but sound pretty poopy to you.
