93 grand am 2.3ohc,quad-driver moduale??

this is a code i get from the ses light. what the heck is it? once the car warms up to opp temp, if i shut off engine and restart, light is gone. also, when i first start up, fan kicks on after a few seconds, then light. any ideas? thanx

Sounds like a fault with the ignition control module, which is located by the coils. Autozone can test it to see if there is a problem. If thats not the problem, there may be something loose, a bad plug, a million different things. I would start with the icm, then check your plugs.

i know its not the plugs. u say this icm is by the coils? i have a coil pack or something like that under the valve outer cover. mounts on top of the plugs. is this what you are talking about? btw, thanx 4 the reply.

Quad drivers are the drives internal of the ECM that are used to control solenoids (EVAP,TCC)
Because of the possibility of a solenoid to short internally, the Quad driver is the internal protection to prevent damage to the ECM.
Quad driver codes are not difficult to diagnose, but you need a good understanding of electricity and electrical circuits. (A good schematic and some test equipment helps too)

ok, so its a solenoid thats kicking the fan on after first start up? maybe the ac solenoid? im also getting that code, ac low or something like that.
