Downgrading to a G20

When I say "downgrade" I dont mean to put you G20 owners down , but I got a 94 Q45t that I am trying to get rid of. I gotta "downgrade" to a 2000 or 2001 G20.
Don't get me wrong, I have compared the G20 with an Audi A4 (better performance but reliability is highly questionable). Also compared a Passat (same as Audi) and a Subaru Legacy GT. The G20 gives me more value for the buck, plus it looks better than all the others I mentioned.

The Q45t I have is one awesome machine (JWT ECU, Stillen intake/Exhaust, Tockicos, 24mm sways). My wife is expecting our first baby and I need to get a reliable and safe car. We need an AT ( I know, its slow), but speed is not a priority. I hope to get one this week or the next. This forum looks like there's a lot of cool members. Can't wait for the G20 to be in my garage..

esanmiguel,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't your current Q45 already fit your requirements, ie. reliable, safe and automatic? Furthermore, if you want a family car, the Q45 is roomier and given it's size, would likely be safer if involved in an accident.

The only benefit I can see to getting a G20 would be for better gas mileage. And, when you load up the G20 with people and choose an auto transmission, you'll likely get mid to low 20 mpg.

As much as I like my G20, if I were in your position, I'd just keep the Q.

Glen

I bet his wife does not like the Q because it is too big. Women don't like driving the bigger cars....

Why I can;t keep the Q45

Poppy is right. First of all, my wife don't like driving the big Q. Do you know how big the Q is?? It is also very heavy at 4,450 lbs. That's heavier than our Jeep Grand Cherokee. Also the Q is not as reliable as any other Nissans. Parts and maintenance on that car is major $$$. By getting the G20, I won't have any probs on it for the next 5 years at least. The G20 also has side airbags. Also, a heavier car does not necessarily mean a safer car in a collision.

Heavier cars mean better stability on high speed. Keep in mind, Q45 was designed for high speed run not stop and go. Q45 was designed to go after German cars like BMW, Mercedes, Opel....etc

However, the new G20 is not that light either at 3000lbs! Anyway, welcome aboard! G20 owners are the last species.

Let's see, going from a 8 cyl. 32-valve, DOHC 290 HP with multi-link suspension and super hicas 4-wheel steering to a 140 HP, 16v 4banger..is that a downgrade? They are cars in diff class man, the G is a value for its class.
