1999 Chev Silverado 5.3 Missing cly 4 and 6

I tried changing the Subject and it doesn't seem to change.

...so I'm adding it's a 5.3.

I put new plugs and wires and that didn't help.

I had NTB do a fuel system clean, no help.

I just installed new coils on 4 and 6, no help.

I'm wondering if I have bad injecter line leading off the spider?

Another problem is with starting. It's been tough to start anytime between warm and hot. Cold start is fine and starts right up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dan

Fixed

I finally found out what was the cause.

The fuel pressure regulator was bad and sucking air.

I didn't have any replies, but thought I'd post this for those that might be interested.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting your solution on the board. You saved me about $850. The dealership wanted to charge me $900 to replace a fuel pump. After I read your post I went ahead and changed out the Fuel Regulator and now she starts up everytime. Damn Dealers!!!!

Again thank you so much!!!!!

I'm glad the reply was able to help you out and cure your problem.

I wish I'd have found out before changing the coils. The plugs and wires were needed, but I spent $100 on coils and $90 on fuel injector cleaning for nothing. I suppose the injector clean was a good thing though.

Re: 1999 Chev Silverado Missing cly 4 and 6

it's ok.. I went ahead and bought new plugs and wires as well. I figure after 134K miles, they probably need to be done. I too bought the fuel injector cleaner.. makes you wonder if it even works though..lol

Take care
