1999 F-250 battery disconnection

Is it possible to disconnect both the batteries on this series truck without any side effects to the diesel engine when i plug 'em back in?
I looked on Google a bit, but me being not very knowlegeable, i didn't know where to start. Thanks for your replies...
If not, is there some other easily accessable thing to remove to 100 percent prevent the truck from starting? Unless, of course, it was replaced.

If I Understand You, You Can Disconnect Both Batteries At The Same Time But It
Will Erase Your Keep Alive Memory. But You Shouldn't Notice Any Thing

Might notice it running a bit rough at idle for a short time while the computer is re-learning his driving style. But it will go away quickly.

Re: 1999 F-250 battery disconnection

sounds like you are worried someone wants to come and get this truck, eh? like the repo man? hehe... they know all the tricks. altho I did see one guy get real creative and pulled his fuel filter... most repo guys dont carry one lol...
the simplest to do is remove the maxi fuse in the fuse box under the hood, marked "Engine electrical"
Good luck.
